What it should cover
- Peeling and flaking. From prep or application failure — the core of any warranty.
- Adhesion failure. Finish letting go of the wood or primer.
- Workmanship defects. Drips, sags, and misses that should have been caught.
What it will not cover
Chips from dropped pans. Water damage from leaks. Wear from harsh cleaners. Normal wear at high-touch spots. No warranty covers abuse — and that is fair.
Questions to ask
- How long is the coverage?
- Is it in writing on the contract?
