Small room, daily use
You are in the laundry room every week. Dated cabinets there drag down a renovated kitchen next door. Painting them, usually in the same color, makes the whole main floor feel finished.
Usually a one-day add-on
Laundry rooms are small. Most are done in a day, often while the kitchen doors are curing at our spray setup. Ask us to include it in your kitchen written price — the marginal cost is small.
Mudrooms too
Mudroom lockers and drop-zone cabinets get the same treatment. They take kid-level abuse, so we spec a hard, scrubbable topcoat. See built-in cabinet painting.

Our process for laundry rooms
Small room, full treatment.
- Look and price. We count the boxes, check the finish, and note the machines. Written price, usually on the spot.
- Machines protected. The washer and dryer get masked. Hoses and vents are worked around, not through.
- Doors off. Small doors, quick removal, off to our spray setup.
- Degrease. Laundry rooms collect lint and detergent film. We clean it all off.
- Sand, prime, spray. Same cabinet process, smaller scale. Humidity-aware primer — laundry rooms run damp.
- Rehang in a day. Most laundry rooms are done in one working day.
Why laundry rooms deserve better
You visit this room weekly. Dated cabinets make a chore feel worse. Fresh ones make the whole house feel finished — especially when they match the kitchen next door.
Laundry rooms also photograph in listings. Buyers open every door. Clean, painted utility cabinets signal a cared-for house.
The cost is small because the room is small. As an add-on to a kitchen job, it is the cheapest transformation per dollar we offer.
Matching the kitchen
Same color ties the rooms together. The eye flows from kitchen to laundry without a jolt. This is what most homeowners choose.
A shade darker adds depth in a windowless laundry room. Darker reads as intentional, not dingy, when the finish is fresh.
White on white is the safe play for resale. Bright, clean, photographs well.
The dampness factor
Dryers vent heat and moisture. Washers leak a little, always. Laundry rooms are the second-dampest rooms in the house after bathrooms.
We prime for it, just like kitchens. Bonding primer made for humid air. Full cure before the machines go back to work.
Check your dryer vent while we are there. A clogged vent pumps moisture into the room and punishes every finish. Clean vents protect paint.
Mudrooms and drop zones
Same idea, harder use. Backpacks, shoes, sports gear — mudroom lockers take kid-level abuse. We spec the hardest topcoat and darker colors that hide scuffs.
Cubbies and hooks can be added while we paint. Tell us at the visit and we will plan the layout. See built-in cabinet painting.
Mudroom combos
The laundry room often connects to the mudroom or garage entry. Painting both at once makes the whole back-of-house feel finished.
Mudroom lockers get cubbies, hooks, and bench seating. We paint the carcasses and spray the doors, same as kitchen work. Hooks and hardware go on after cure.
Colors can match the laundry room or go darker. Darker hides the scuffs of daily family traffic. Navy and charcoal are mudroom favorites.
Boot trays and shoe storage underneath keep the painted base clean. We can plan the layout with you at the visit.
One visit covers laundry plus mudroom. The crew is there, the sprayer is running, and the marginal cost is small. Ask for the combined price.
Drying racks and folding space
A painted laundry room is the perfect time to add function. A wall-mounted drying rack folds away when not needed. A counter over the machines creates folding space.
We can install simple add-ons while we paint. Racks, rods, and shelf brackets go up after the finish cures.
Keep it simple. Laundry rooms work hardest when everything has a place and nothing is precious. Painted cabinets plus a few smart add-ons beat a fancy remodel.
Tell us how you use the room at the visit. We will suggest what fits.
