Touch up when…
- The damage is a few chips or scratches.
- The surrounding finish is firmly bonded.
- The color can be matched.
See cabinet touch-up and repair.
Repaint when…
- Peeling or flaking is widespread.
- The finish is soft, sticky, or worn through in many spots.
- You want a new color anyway.
The honest test
Press masking tape firmly onto the finish and pull it off. If paint comes with it, the bond is failing — that is a repaint, not a touch-up. Send us a photo and we will confirm. Call (301) 679-9193.
