The checklist
- Empty every cabinet and drawer. Dishes, food, pots — everything out. This is the one big task.
- Clear the counters. Small appliances into another room.
- Plan meals. The stove usually stays usable, but the kitchen is a work zone for a few days.
- Secure pets. Doors will be off and the crew in and out. Pets are happier elsewhere.
- Clear a path. We carry doors out to our spray setup. A clear route helps.
